@Yanderemenhera you can do Cryptomator. it creates an encrypted "vault" that can be stored locally or in cloud storage. its all open source and designed for protecting files. it needs slightly more setup but still works. you can also do VeraCrypt (if your Chromebook supports Linux apps)
